Job description

LSG, an impact agency specializing in brand building, corporate reputation management, and public affairs, seeks a creative, highly-motivated design associate to join our team. This position plays a critical role within our collaborative creative group supporting clients with compelling, high-quality design across digital and print channels.

The ideal candidate brings one year of design experience, exceptional attention to detail, and a genuine interest in communications, public policy, or social impact work. This is a hybrid role based in our downtown DC office Monday-Thursday, with remote work available on Fridays.

Responsibilities
  • Design high-quality digital and print collateral including presentations, social media graphics, newsletters, one-pagers, reports, infographics, data visualizations, and event materials
  • Maintain brand consistency across all client-facing and internal communications
  • Translate strategic messaging into visually compelling assets across a variety of formats and platforms
  • Prepare and package files for production and vendor delivery, including quick-turnaround print materials
  • Support client accounts by drafting press releases, social media content, issue briefs, action alerts, and other written materials as needed
  • Write, edit, and proofread client-facing materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute fresh creative ideas
  • Maintain and organize the firm's creative asset library and design templates
  • Assist with client reporting, weekly updates, and post-project materials
  • Stay current on design trends and bring new perspectives to the team
Qualifications
  • B.A. in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Art, Communications, or a related field
  • One year of professional or internship experience in graphic design, marketing, or communications
  • Interest in public relations, public affairs, or social impact work
  • Strong portfolio showcasing design work across digital and/or print media
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop); Canva proficiency required
  • Solid understanding of design fundamentals: typography, layout, color theory, and branding
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent editing and proofreading abilities
  • Self-starter who works well independently and collaboratively

  • Familiarity with media and social media monitoring tools (e.g., Critical Mention, Meltwater, Brandwatch)
  • Experience in motion graphics and/or video editing
