Position Overview:
The Creative Designer is a professional who uses artistic talent, design principles, and technical skills to create visually appealing and effective designs for a variety of products, campaigns, and platforms to strengthen brand identity and drive audience engagement. Acting as an umbrella role that encompasses graphic design, brand strategy, concept development, and project management, the Creative Designer translates complex business objectives and client briefs into engaging visual stories.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Concept, design, and produce creative assets for marketing campaigns, sales materials, websites, landing pages, email, social media, events, presentations, signage, and print collateral
  • Maintain and evolve brand standards, ensuring consistent use of logos, typography, color, imagery, layout, and visual style across all deliverables
  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, product, sales, and leadership stakeholders to understand project goals, audiences, timelines, and success criteria
  • Brainstorm and develop creative visual concepts for integrated marketing campaigns, working closely with copywriters and marketing managers
  • Translate creative briefs and business needs into clear visual concepts, layouts, mockups, and final production-ready files
  • Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, incorporate feedback, and revise work while maintaining creative quality and brand integrity.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritizing deadlines and communicating status, risks, and dependencies clearly.
  • Prepare files for digital deployment, print production, vendors, and internal distribution, ensuring accuracy, quality, and proper specifications.
  • Stay current on design trends, marketing best practices, accessibility considerations, and emerging creative tools to continuously improve creative output
  • Coordinate directly with external print vendors and suppliers to select paper stocks, review proofs, and ensure high-quality production standards
  • Manage multiple design timelines independently, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet strict marketing launch dates

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, fine arts, marketing or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)

Skills:
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional design experience, ideally within an in-house marketing department or creative agency
  • Proficiency with applications such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Planner, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with collaborative Content Management Systems such as Canto and digital layout tools like Figma is a plus
  • Solid understanding of design principles: typography, color theory, layout, composition, visual hierarchy, production standards, and brand systems.
  • Branding knowledge to align designs with brand strategy
  • Ideation and creativity to generate unique, engaging concepts
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Understanding of accessibility best practices and inclusive design principles.
  • Basic knowledge of UX/UI design principles, responsive layouts, web designs, workflows, and social media platform specs.
  • Experience with motion graphics, short-form video editing, animation, photography, or multimedia production.
  • Problem-solving to address design challenges creatively
  • Project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to convey ideas to stakeholders

Requirements:
  • Hands on, proven experience in content creation with a strong and diverse portfolio demonstrating and showcasing clean typography, strong layout skills, creative, innovative, and real-world examples across both print and digital platforms.
  • On-Site role requiring presence at Corporate HQ (Leawood, Kansas).
  • The ability to travel based on business needs, including overnight travel
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and through digital collaboration tools.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move marketing materials, printed collateral, event supplies, or equipment up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to review visual details on screens and printed proofs with close attention to accuracy.
