JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Clinical Nurse II in our Fertility Center located in Morrisville, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs direct patient care - including rooming patients, chaperoning and assisting with exams and bedside procedures, ensures patient history are up to date in medical record, administers medications per protocol/order and performs basic lab tests (venipuncture, POCT) on premises. e professional nursing judgment to individualize the plan of care based on assessment of the patient's baseline needs and response to care.
  • Is knowledgeable of the procedural areas including setup, assisting, room turnover, and how to respond to a patient emergency.
  • Is knowledgeable regarding high level disinfection as well as sterile processing within the clinic for all medical equipment that is processed in house.
  • Collaborates with nurse manager regarding schedule development for clinical team.
  • Adheres to professional standard, policies, procedures, EOC, JCAHO, and Infection control.
  • Acts as clinical liaison between patients, clinical and clerical teams to ensure appropriate patient care is provided.
  • Establishes and maintains productive ethical working relationships with patients, coworkers, referring providers, and commercial agencies.
  • Develop, document, implement and monitor written policies and procedures reflective of the ambulatory health care site mission settlement and objectives.
  • Function as Team Leader by providing support as needed in staffing/direct patient care, resolving issues as they arise, maintaining clinic supplies and equipment, and coordinating staff coverage.
  • Lead PI projects and/or serves as a DHIP clinic champion/liaison.
  • Sends normal lab results to patients via mychart, routes abnormal lab results to providers.
  • First line of defense for assignment rearranging during double booked appointments or call outs.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
  • Rotating weekend requirement, no more than one weekend per month.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Work requires graduation from an accredited Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
    • All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the BSN program within seven years of their start date.
    • Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within seven years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification.
  • 1-2 years RN experience IV/Venipuncture Fertility will be prioritized and is stongly preferred.
  • OB/GYN, L&D, Women's Health Experience will be prioritized and is strongly preferred
  • BLS required
