The Associate VP, Technology Solution Implementation delivers new technological solutions to meet business needs within a specified scope while aligned to enterprise objectives. The Associate VP, Technology Solution Implementation requires a in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across segments and/or enterprise-wide.

The Associate VP, CenterWell Primary Care Technology leads engineering across a key segment of CenterWell Primary Care's product offerings. The individual in this role is responsible for driving a team with full autonomy to deliver solutions supportive of the organizations "big rocks". This individual influences system design to optimize support and ensures solutions meet the business objectives and requirements. The AVP, CenterWell Primary Care Technology's team completes and coordinates implementation of design and requirements, testing, operational readiness, and transition to the appropriate production support team. The individual in this role will have strong working knowledge of contemporary cloud and data tools, concepts, and patterns, while also being a savvy partner to our business product and strategy leaders and can co-lead technology-rich business objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering both greenfield capabilities and SaaS enhancements, while also having a strong delivery and program management background. Finally, the individual in this role will bring to the organization a wealth of relevant healthcare technology experience.

Responsibilities Include:

1.Transform Provider Productivity Through AI at Scale. Lead the design and deployment of AI-driven capabilities including ambient documentation, chart summarization, pre-visit planning, coding assistance, inbox automation, prescription workflows, and intelligent clinical decision support. Measure success through reductions in provider administrative time, improved clinician satisfaction, and increased patient-facing capacity.

2. Own the Technology Portfolio Supporting Practice Operations. Direct the technology roadmap for front-office, back-office, and clinic operations, including patient access, scheduling, referrals, care team workflows, intake processes, operational command centers, workflow automation, and practice performance tools. Balance operational reliability with delivery of new capabilities that improve clinic efficiency and patient experience across multi-state markets.

3. Drive Executive-Level Business Outcomes Through Data and Operational Intelligence.
Partner with operational and clinical leaders to translate complex business challenges into technology solutions. Lead the development of operational data assets, automation capabilities, AI-enabled insights, and decision-support platforms that improve quality performance, risk adjustment, cost of care management, productivity, and growth objectives.

4. Lead Large-Scale Strategic Initiatives Across the Primary Care Enterprise. Serve as the technology executive responsible for major transformation programs including EMR optimization, AI adoption, workflow modernization, acquisitions and clinic integrations, operational resilience initiatives, and growth enablement programs. Regularly engage with senior executives to align investment priorities, manage risks, and ensure delivery of measurable business value.

5. Build the Future State of Intelligent Care Delivery Operations. Establish the long-term strategy for AI-enabled practice operations by identifying opportunities to automate manual work, orchestrate clinical and operational workflows, leverage agentic AI capabilities, and create reusable technology platforms that can be scaled across the Primary Care organization. Drive innovation while maintaining strong governance, operational excellence, and responsible AI practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including responsibility for product development, engineering, data, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives.

  • 5+ years leading cross-functional teams comprised of product managers, software engineers, data scientists, UX designers, architects, and clinical informaticists.

  • Demonstrated success delivering AI-enabled products and operational capabilities at enterprise scale.

  • Deep understanding of healthcare delivery workflows, particularly primary care, care management, quality improvement, value-based care, and provider operations.

  • Experience designing and implementing modern data platforms, interoperability solutions, and AI/ML ecosystems leveraging cloud-native architectures.

  • Proven ability to translate business, clinical, and operational needs into technology roadmaps and measurable outcomes.

  • Track record of creating exceptional user experiences for physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical staff, patients, and operational associates.

  • Strong understanding of human-centered design principles, user research methodologies, journey mapping, and digital product development.

  • Experience leading enterprise AI strategy, including generative AI, predictive analytics, intelligent workflow automation, decision support, and responsible AI governance.

  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards including FHIR, HL7, APIs, and healthcare data exchange ecosystems.

  • Experience working with clinical, claims, operational, and consumer-generated health data.

  • Demonstrated success building and scaling high-performing technology organizations through organizational growth, operating model transformation, and talent development.

  • Ability to effectively influence executive leaders, physicians, business stakeholders, and external partners without direct authority.

  • Strong financial management experience, including investment planning, vendor management, contract negotiations, business case development, and benefits realization.

  • Experience establishing product operating models, agile delivery practices, and outcome-based performance management.

  • Exceptional communication and leadership presence with experience presenting to senior executives, CIOs, CMIOs, clinical leaders, and boards.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


$172,200 - $236,900 per year


This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
