Job description

Rusty Rail Brewing is seeking an experienced brewer to join our team.

Our brewers are responsible for brewing all of our beers and must have a strong commitment to quality while being a passionate steward for our company. If you're an experienced brewer who takes pride in craftsmanship, teamwork, and producing delicious beer, we'd love to hear from you. We are a small and close-knit production team that places a premium on culture and supporting each other.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Cleaning and sanitation
  • Perform all brewhouse operations on our 15BBL manual system
  • Wort production
  • CIP tanks and equipment
  • Perform beer transfers
  • Assist with cellar duties that can include
    • Dry hop tanks
    • Carbonate beer
    • Clean kegs
    • All cellar work to be completed with an eye towards low DO
  • Work with and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance manager and/or supervisor
  • Help organize and maintain ingredients and raw materials
  • Operate a fork lift safely
  • Perform other jobs in the brewery as needed
  • Assist other employees as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years of production brewing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Brewing, Chemistry, or a related science preferred.
  • Forklift experience
  • A strong commitment to quality, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Passion for craft beer

COMPESATION: Competitive compensation based on level of experience.

SCHEDULE:

Monday-Friday (occasional weekend work as needed)

Rotating shifts as needed. 1st shift 6am -2:30pm, 2nd shift 10:30am-7pm

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Communicate information clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently use hands to reach, grasp, handle, and manipulate objects.
  • Bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and maintain balance.
  • Lift and carry up to 60 pounds and move up to 155 pounds.
  • Perform work requiring manual dexterity and occasional overhead reaching.
  • Maintain close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision with the ability to adjust focus.
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle and forklift.
  • Be able to work in hot, humid, and wet conditions.
