What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a CPI instructor?

To excel as a CPI Instructor, you need in-depth knowledge of crisis prevention and intervention techniques, often demonstrated through CPI Certification and experience in de-escalation training. Familiarity with CPI training manuals, video tools, and compliance tracking systems is typically required. Superior communication, patience, and strong presentation skills are essential for effectively teaching and engaging diverse groups. These competencies are vital for ensuring trainees are well-prepared to respond safely and confidently to challenging situations in their workplaces.

Depending on the employer, CPI Instructors sometimes travel between sites or departments to reach different staff groups.
