Job description

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Performance Improvement (PI) Department leadership, the Performance Improvement Specialist is responsible for driving progress of robust process improvement projects; works collaboratively with key stakeholders, including process owners, organization leaders and physicians. This includes abstracting, validating and compiling data for quality and performance initiatives, identifying and presenting process opportunities. Provides organizational support in the development, implementation, and evaluation of performance improvement to include, but not limited to regulatory survey readiness activities, disease-specific care certifications and/or registries and related clinical outcomes, patient safety-related clinical outcomes, regulatory and contracted value related clinical outcomes.
EXPERIENCE: Three or more years of experience in clinical healthcare or performance improvement.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent time management and organizational skills; proficient in MS Office (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint), proficient in data applications, experience in data report writing preferred. Exceptional oral and written communication skills; self-motivation and ability to work independently; ability to work as a team player and collaborate effectively with others. Note: Special skills may be required for assigned areas of focus.
OTHER:Attention to detail, independently as needed.
LICENSE/CERT: Required: RN (Registered Nurse) State of Missouri Preferred: CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality), Lean Six Sigma Certification, PMP (Project Management Professional)
EDUCATION: Required: Associates - Nursing, Preferred: Bachelors - Nursing
