Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Wine Group is looking for a Senior Manager of E-Retail to lead development and execution of a portfolio-wide ecommerce strategy. We are searching for an individual to bring fresh thinking and innovation to one of the fastest-growing channels in the alcohol category. Partnering with the Senior Director of Digital and Ecommerce and in partnership with key stakeholders at The Wine Group, you will shape, execute, and optimize the full ecommerce strategy. The Senior Manager of E-Retail will report to the Senior Director of Digital and Ecommerce.

The ideal candidate will have the unique combination of leadership skills, technical marketing acumen, and strategic thinking necessary to lead and influence a team of marketing and sales stakeholders accountable for brand health and performance on multiple high-priority brands. This candidate will also have an innovative mindset and the ability to be an effective liaison with retailers and sales teams to help grow our brands in ecommerce. This is a remote position but requires travel 20-30% per year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee, shape, and execute the full ecommerce strategy and plan for TWG.
  • Work closely with the Trade Development and Trade Marketing team to assess, meet, and exceed needs for top retailer customers.
  • Educate, influence, and grow the ecommerce acumen of the full organization.
  • Manage ecommerce marketing spend with support from agency partners to execute buys in all areas, including online alcohol marketplace and B2B ecommerce advertising.
  • Frequent interaction with major retail customers to plan, execute and innovate based on their needs.
  • Merchandise all ecommerce efforts to align with brand and trade marketing.
  • With one direct report and distributor support, maintain tech stack supporting ecommerce, including Salsify.
  • Continuous focus on prioritizing projects and process to meet goals.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Support ad hoc projects or tasks based on department priorities, and business needs.
  • Follow established company policies, security standards, and data protection guidelines when working with systems, applications, or information.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related study required. MBA is strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of marketing experience.
  • Ecommerce experience, ideally in alcohol beverage, is required.
  • CPG experience in food/beverage marketing necessary for this role.
  • CPG experience with direct customer interaction and collaboration.
  • Experience managing agencies executing work shaped by your plan.
  • Deep knowledge of technical needs and category nuances of alcohol with a focus on executing to grow sales in the channel.
  • Must have proficiency in Salsify or similar digital asset management/PIM tool.
  • Previous management experience of direct reports and experience influencing or leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills with ability to execute.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively on a winning team.
  • Strong bias for thoughtful action, highly relationship-oriented, accomplish work with and through others via purposeful collaboration.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Primarily sedentary work performed in an office or hybrid office environment, involving extended periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation.
  • Regular use of hands and fingers for keyboard use, data entry, and operating standard office and computer equipment.
  • Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively to exchange information, review detailed information on a computer screen, and participate in meetings.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching may be required.

COMPENSATION

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $144,200 - $190,000.
  • Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, knowledge and abilities, education, and other position-related factors.
