Job description

As a Carrier Sales Representative you will work closely with our extensive network of carriers, as well as develop new relationships focusing on improving efficiency and managing transportation costs. You will source and procure the carrier services that will physically move freight for our clients. Top priority is ensuring timely pick-up and delivery of customer freight while building and maintaining relationships with carriers. Masters of negotiation, you secure the best rates on a spot or transactional basis. You thrive in an ever-changing environment, taking a proactive approach in learning the pricing and capacity fluctuations in the truckload shipping market. At Covenant Transport Solutions, we are committed to servicing our customers and exceeding expectations. Our team members are trained to see the world through the eyes of our customers and transcend the investment of a traditional broker relationship.
Responsibilities
  • Source and procure carrier capacity to book and ensure execution of committed freight on a spot basis and or in the short term
  • Negotiate rates with carriers on a spot or transactional basis to maximize revenue per load
  • Cultivate relationships with carriers to establish long-lasting partnerships and develop Solutions' service area
  • ⁠Direct oversight of all freight responsible for in transit

  • Services Check Calls for Lumper, Scale Ticket, Tarps, Reefer Temp, Safety Equip, B&B, Seal, etc.

  • Initiate & Monitor New Carrier Onboarding Process
    • Carrier Packet Follow Up
