Job description

The Senior Instructional Tech Designer delivers high-impact learning experiences and elevates the team's capability through consultation, team leadership, and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Consult with stakeholders to diagnose needs, recommend approaches, and shape scope, timeline, and success measures
  • Lead complex Design projects in partnership with internal L&D teammates or internal clients from intake through launch.
  • Design and develop learning experiences end-to-end across digital and blended formats.
  • Produce high-quality visual and multimedia deliverables that make complex content clear and usable. (graphics, layouts, infographics, motion graphics, and video).
  • Design and develop video, motion graphics, and interactive media beyond basics.
  • Develop presentations for high-visibility audiences, ensuring effective messaging, engaging design, and alignment with Brand standards.
  • Maintain and publish learning content in SharePoint, improving usability and consistency of learner-facing pages.
  • Apply accessibility standards in learning and visual design.
  • Incorporate feedback and data to continuously improve learning effectiveness and learner experience.
  • Contribute to templates, asset libraries, and standards that improve consistency and speed.
  • Set and reinforce design standards (instructional + visual) through reviews and coaching.
  • Upskill and mentor teammates through feedback, examples, and hands-on guidance.
  • Improve team workflows, templates, and reusable assets to increase quality and efficiency at scale

Required qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience designing digital experiences and producing visual and multimedia deliverables.
  • Knowledge of adult learning design principles.
  • Demonstrated consultative skill (needs analysis, solution recommendation, influencing without authority).
  • Strong visual design fundamentals (layout, typography, visual hierarchy, brand alignment).
  • Experience working in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment with multiple concurrent projects.
  • Clear communication and strong stakeholder partnership skills.
  • A curious, innovative, creative mindset for exploring new ways to improve design and development.
  • Advanced tool fluency with:
    • Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere)
    • Video/animation tools
    • Course authoring tools
    • SharePoint development

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience establishing design standards and conducting structured quality reviews.
  • Experience working with global teams and various stakeholders.
  • Experience developing learning in course authoring tools and support publishing workflows in an LMS/LXP environment.
  • Web development for learning delivery (HTML/CSS/JS).
  • Experience with generative AI development tools.
  • Experience creating immersive learning experiences, including simulations
