Job description

Do you love getting messy with finger paints? Do you enjoy challenging a child to reach an important milestone or enriching their days? Smart Sitting wants to hear from you! Our nanny agency is based in New York City, and we also service Jersey City, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Chicago, as well as other cities around the United States on occasion. Our team is here to offer you personalized support for your entire time in our network and assist in matching you with your ideal family and childcare position, advocating on your behalf for sustainable jobs with competitive compensation.

We are always looking for enthusiastic, creative, and driven babysitters and nannies to join our network.

We are currently placing for flexible, part-time, and full-time nanny positions in New York (Manhattan and Brooklyn) and New Jersey (Jersey City and Hoboken), and for flexible positions in New York (Bronx, Queens, Staten Island, Nassau County Long Island, and Westchester County), Philadelphia, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Rates for part-time and full-time positions are $25-35+/hour and for flexible positions, rates are $20-25+/hr.

As a member of the caregiving team at Smart Sitting, you will be matched with employers who share our core values, appreciate open communication, and support legal employment, all to move the nannying profession forward and make it the rewarding industry it can be. We've been around for 13 years and are looking forward to working with more bright and creative caregivers and expanding our community.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of recent professional experience working with children. Experience will ideally include in-home childcare experience with a consistent, long-term schedule.
  • At least 2 and ideally 3 strong references from recent professional childcare or childcare-related positions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate a passion for working with children.
  • Possess problem-solving skills, a can-do attitude, and are comfortable communicating openly with others.
  • Have a family-friendly social media presence.
  • Able to work with Smart Sitting for at least 6 months.
