Job description

Role/Position:                          Hauling Driver (Class A)

Accountable to:                      Logistics Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Class A Hauling Driver to join our logistics team. This role is responsible for transporting raw materials and finished goods between company facilities, customer locations, and distribution centers while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, DOT and California transportation regulations. The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, and committed to maintaining the highest safety standards at all times.

Responsibilities:

·         Safely transport raw materials and finished goods to designated locations

·         Supervise loading and unloading activities and ensure all cargo is properly secured

·         Follow all federal, state, and local trucking safety regulations

·         Must always follow all company safety policies and procedures

·         Maintain safe driving practices and operate vehicles in a responsible manner

·         Complete shipping and delivery documentation accurately

·         Verify inventory and shipping paperwork before transport

·         Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns

·         Refuel and perform routine vehicle upkeep as needed

·         Maintain cleanliness and organization of truck and equipment

·         Report accidents, delays, or vehicle issues promptly to management

·         Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and team members

·         Support additional operational duties as assigned

Requirements and Experience:

·         Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

·         Minimum of 2 years of Class A commercial driving experience required

·         Clean driving record with no moving violations, major accidents, or DUI convictions within the past 5 years

·         Must be registered with the FMCSA Clearinghouse

·         Ability to pass:

o   FMCSA Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP)

o   CDLIS Verification

o   Background Check

o   Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

o   DOT Drug Screen

o   Pre-Employment Physical

·         Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and California transportation regulations

·         High school diploma or GED preferred

·         Ability to safely maneuver and park large commercial vehicles

·         Strong communication and problem-solving skills

·         Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently

·         Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and occasional overnight trips as needed

·         Strong commitment to safety and compliance standards


Physical Demands/Work Environment:

·         Frequently required to sit for extended periods while operating commercial vehicles

·         The ability to walk and/or stand for several minutes and the ability to lift objects weighing less than fifty (50) pounds is required on occasion. On rare occasions, the role may be required to lift and/or move objects weighing more than fifty (50) pounds

·         The continuous use of both hands; including grasping, pulling, and pushing. The ability to walk and/or balancing on even and uneven surfaces, standing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching forward, and reaching overhead and/or below the shoulder. 

·         Travel especially same day commuting around company’s properties, and some multi-day travel assignments to include overnight stays at company’s expense will be required.

·         Frequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment and read documentation, and/or use a keyboard

·         Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds

·         Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat and cold
