About the RoleThe Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the
maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of the hotel's building, equipment, and grounds. This position plays a key role in ensuring a
safe, comfortable, and high-quality guest experience while staying within budget guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Provide friendly, professional service to all guests
- Inspect and maintain hotel systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests and resolve guest concerns
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment, guest rooms, and public areas
- Maintain landscaping, parking areas, and outdoor spaces
- Complete routine room maintenance to meet brand standards
- Perform general repair tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and carpet cleaning
- Maintain inventory of tools and supplies
- Keep mechanical rooms and storage areas clean and organized
- Follow all hotel safety and security procedures
- Communicate issues promptly to management
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and small equipment
- Ability to prioritize tasks with minimal disruption to guests
- Willingness to obtain CPO certification if required
- Previous maintenance or facilities experience preferred, but not required
Physical RequirementsThis role involves regular indoor and outdoor work, including:
- Standing, walking, lifting, bending, and reaching throughout the shift
- Working with tools, equipment, chemicals, and cleaning agents
- Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions
Compensation & Benefits- Starting at $17/hour, depending on experience
- Full-time and part-time positions available
- Flexible scheduling; some evenings or weekends may be required
