What is a country club?

A country club is a private membership organization that offers recreational and social facilities, such as golf courses, tennis courts, swimming pools, dining areas, and event spaces. Members typically pay initiation fees and annual dues to access these amenities and participate in club-sponsored activities. Country clubs often provide a sense of community and exclusivity, and may host social events, tournaments, and private gatherings. Membership requirements and offerings can vary widely between clubs.

What are the typical responsibilities and expectations for employees working at a country club?

Employees at a country club typically provide high-quality service to members and guests, which can include roles in hospitality, golf course maintenance, event planning, and administration. Team members are expected to maintain a professional and friendly demeanor, ensuring that members have a positive experience. Working at a country club often involves collaborating closely with colleagues across departments, adapting to seasonal events, and sometimes working evenings or weekends. Employees may also have opportunities for cross-training and advancement within the club, depending on their performance and interests.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a country club manager, and why are they important?

  • Create playgroup rosters and end-of-night lists.
  • Maintain End of Day Reports and balance the cashbox daily.
  • Prepare cubby sheets for incoming boarders and ensure grooming/add-ons are correctly added.
  • Keep all data entry in Gingr accurate and up to date, adding detailed pet profile notes as needed.
Facility & Safety Protocols
  • Perform hourly walkthroughs and spot checks of the facility.
  • Assist the Dog Daycare Services (DDS) team with playgroup transitions and occasional group supervision.
  • Set up and break down kennels for all suite types.
  • Prep meals and administer medications according to veterinary instructions.
  • Follow radio code protocols and respond appropriately.
Cleaning & Grooming
  • Maintain a clean and organized lobby, including mopping, air freshening, and window cleaning.
  • Wash and fold laundry frequently (never more than half a load).
  • Support grooming tasks such as baths, desheds, nail trimming, teeth brushing, and ear cleaning.
  • Safely handle dogs during grooming and ensure the grooming room is clean and organized.
What We’re Looking For

  • Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive.
  • Comfortable handling animals, including administering medication and light grooming.
  • Basic math and POS handling skills (e.g., cash handling, refunds, and packages).
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs and handle physically active dogs.
  • Comfortable standing, bending, and walking throughout your shift.
Why Join Canine Country Club?
