Position Summary
GENERAL SUMMARY: Under supervision, landscape or maintain grounds of parks using hand or power tools or equipment performing a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, and sprinkler repair; maintenance, repair and upkeep of park facilities and areas maintained by the golf course; and perform related work as required.
Job Duties
  • Dispose of trash or waste materials.
  • Daily operational procedures may include changing of green hole location and moving of teemarkers.
  • Operate grounds maintenance equipment including but not limited to general mowers,trucksters, trimmers, etc.
  • Assist with manual irrigation procedures including turf, trees, and ornamentals
  • Irrigate lawns, trees, or plants; and flower beds.
  • Weed annual and perennial flower beds.
  • Cultivate lawns, turf, or gardens.
  • Maintain sports field surfaces.
  • Rake sand traps, remove leaves/debris and maintain trap edges.
  • Clean facilities or sites.
  • Use time and attendance software and other records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Operation and Control - Using equipment or systems.
  • Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or display screens to make sure a machine is working.
  • Control Precision - Quickly changing the controls of a machine, car or truck. Near and Far Vision -Seeing details up close and far away.
  • Depth Perception - Deciding which thing is closer or farther away from you or deciding how faraway it is from you.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least one month of experience operating light to medium sized equipment.
  • 16 years of age or older.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a state driver's license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with golf course maintenance equipment.
  • Experience with golf course maintenance.
  • Experience with outdoor equipment such as lawnmowers, weed eaters and chainsaws.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Duties require use of physical strength and working outside in inclement weather. Occasional weekend work required.
