Purpose of the position:

As a Project Cost Controller, you will be a key member of the Project Controls Department at Saipem America Inc. Your primary responsibility is to manage and control project costs by establishing a reliable cost control system. You will support the Project Manager in decision-making to ensure projects remain within approved budgets. This includes early detection and analysis of budget deviations, estimating their impact, and monitoring corrective actions. The role also involves ensuring compliance with internal cost control reporting standards and collaborating effectively with relevant stakeholders.

How can you support us?
  • Cost Management: Implement and maintain the Cost Control System. Develop and manage a consolidated Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) in accordance with procedures. Track project expenditures and monitor adherence to budgets and financial plans.
  • Financial Reporting: Preparing accurate and timely cost reports, including analysis of actual costs against budget and forecasts.
  • Cost Analysis: Identify cost variances, investigate potential overruns, and propose mitigation measures. Monitor project progress and earned value to calculate cost accruals and work-in-progress valuations.
  • Forecasting: Develop cost forecasts for future phases of the project to support effective planning and resource allocation.
  • Project Risk: Contribute to risk assessments by providing cost-related inputs and performing Monte Carlo analysis.
  • Change Management: Support the project team during contract changes and claims processes by providing detailed cost impact analyses.
  • Communication: Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to communicate cost performance and address financial issues.
  • Compliance: Ensure all cost control activities comply with corporate policies, procedures, and reporting standards.
