This role is within the EDS segment, and you will be joining that segment as it becomes its own entity, with a rich heritage and proven track record as a global leader in low and high voltage power and signal distribution systems. YOUR ROLE
This is an exciting, high-impact opportunity to help shape the course of one of the world's leading automotive harness suppliers. As a member of the Strategy team, you will work closely with our CEO, his direct reports, and senior executives in our business to define, plan, and execute the company's long-term strategic priorities. Topic areas will include:
  • Growth - Identify and execute levers to drive sustained, profitable growth
  • Diversification - Expand into margin accretive, fast growing end markets outside of Automotive and Commercial Vehicles
  • Profitability - Identify and execute initiatives to maintain and enhance profitability (e.g. supply chain, vertical integration, footprint, automation, efficiency)
  • Business foundation - Optimizing our global execution capabilities (e.g. human capital, quality & delivery, customer & regional mix, and footprint & efficiency)

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Executing consulting-like projects, working closely with stakeholders in our businesses and corporate functions - includes structuring the problem, gathering and analyzing data, generating insight, translating into written output, and delivering executive-level readouts and recommendations
  • Developing fact bases and market models around key product segments and technology trends impacting the business, e.g. ADAS adoption, electric vehicle penetration, transition to software-defined vehicle architectures, transition to 48V architectures, etc.
  • Conducting detailed analysis of customers and competitors
  • Shaping and driving content creation for executive leadership in key meetings (e.g. Board of Directors, Investor Meetings, GLT meetings, etc.)

The ideal candidate will be able to combine highly structured and analytical thinking with sound business judgment and creativity to support our management team and businesses. S/he will bring:
  • Interest and/or domain expertise in areas relevant for our business (e.g. automotive, wire harnesses)
  • Demonstrated skills in strategic analysis, planning, and problem solving
  • Ability to conduct complex quantitative analyses (e.g. Excel modeling)
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to develop polished visuals (PowerPoint) and communicate effectively with senior audiences
  • Great energy, tenacity, and resourcefulness in tackling challenging problems

YOUR BACKGROUND
Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Business, Finance, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of one year of experience in top-tier consulting experience or comparable, including investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy/development, or similar in technology or automotive industries
  • Quantitative analyses using MS Excel
  • Diverse experience in or around automotive/manufacturing/industrial goods
  • Must be a local resident of Metro Detroit, MI for work on campus. Relocation is available.
