What You'll Do:

The Senior Analyst, Corporate Development supports Crowley’s enterprise growth, investment, and strategic transaction priorities across acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, divestitures, and major strategic projects. This role is responsible for advanced financial analysis, valuation, market intelligence, diligence coordination, business case development, and preparation of executive-ready investment materials. The Senior Analyst operates independently on significant analytical workstreams, partners cross-functionally with business and functional leaders, and provides technical guidance to analysts while building readiness for broader transaction and initiative leadership.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead analytical and execution workstreams for acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, divestitures, and other corporate development initiatives.
  • Coordinate due diligence activities with internal stakeholders, business leaders, functional partners, and external advisors to ensure timely completion of required analysis and deliverables.
  • Analyze financial, operational, commercial, market, and strategic information to identify transaction risks, value creation opportunities, dependencies, and decision points.
  • Prepare transaction summaries, management presentations, diligence updates, and investment committee materials that clearly communicate findings, assumptions, risks, and recommendations.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance complex financial models, including discounted cash flow, comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis, returns analysis, scenario modeling, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Develop investment cases and strategic recommendations supported by quantitative analysis, business assumptions, risk assessment, and alignment to enterprise priorities.
  • Maintain ownership of assigned portions of the enterprise strategic opportunity pipeline, including target tracking, opportunity screening, research, and status updates.
  • Support business case development and validation for major strategic projects, growth initiatives, capital investments, and enterprise priority work.
  • Serve as a technical resource and informal mentor to analysts and cross-functional partners on valuation, diligence, research, and presentation development.

Qualifications

Education & Credentials:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Strategy, or related field required. MBA, CFA, CPA, CVA, or similar professional designation preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 5–8 years of progressive experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, strategic finance, business development, transaction advisory, or a related field. Demonstrated experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, divestitures, capital investment analyses, financial modeling, business case development, or strategic project evaluation required. Experience in transportation, maritime, logistics, energy, infrastructure, government services, or complex operational environments preferred. Experience with research, market intelligence, valuation, or transaction platforms such as Capital IQ, AlphaSense, PitchBook, FactSet, Bloomberg, or similar tools preferred.

Technical Skills:

Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis capability, including discounted cash flow, comparable company, precedent transaction, returns, scenario, and sensitivity analyses. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and collaboration tools required. Strong financial statement analysis, accounting fluency, business case development, transaction diligence, data room management, target research, market intelligence, pipeline tracking, and executive-level synthesis required.

Job Scope:

Supports enterprise and business unit growth, corporate development, strategic transaction, and capital allocation priorities. This role contributes to decision quality by developing rigorous analyses, coordinating cross-functional inputs, identifying risks and opportunities, and preparing materials used by leadership to evaluate strategic options.
