TITLE: Public Safety Officer III, Corporal,
REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Public Safety and Emergency Management
SALARY: Grade 10 ($20.25 - $26.25 per hour)
ROLE: The Corporal is a certified Special Police Officer Lead position and is responsible for assisting in providing supervision of college Public Safety Officers. This position also provides protective services over college buildings and/or property within the college community by enforcing the laws of the State of Maryland and the rules and regulations of St. Johnโs College. This is a high-visibility, service-oriented job and a position of the public trust. Lead officers are considered assistant shift supervisors. This is a 40 hour per week position, with sift coverage based on a 24-hour schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and various shifts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Applicant should be physically capable of walking or standing a post outdoors for extended periods of time, as well as ascending and descending stairs.
