Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step, and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps. Example of Duties Support Anchorage Health Department in administrative operations; to include phone coverage, purchasing, website editing, and administrative support to the Director and all divisions within the department. Provides clerical support for Commission activities and assists program managers with special events, and projects. Maintains and assists in development of flyers, brochures, newsletters and websites as needed to enhance communication with community.
Prepares purchase orders, maintains procurement card, authorizes invoices and orders supplies as needed. Maintains Administration filing systems and office machines. Answers main phone line after phone tree.
Coordinates and prepares for All Staff Meetings to include service award pins, and overall agenda. Janitorial management and monitors day custodian and key inventory control. Conducts research and prepares travel arrangements for the department.
Provides back up to coordinate building maintenance, repairs, and space management. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in office clerical work.
Ability to type at a net speed of 35 WPM. OR Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Computer Information Systems or similar discipline and experience in office clerical work. All Applicants are Required to obtain Satisfactory typing test of Net speed of 35 WPM (current within the past 1 year satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history Additional Important Information Preference will be given to Anchorage Municipal Employees Association (AMEA) employees.

The minimum qualifications of the position must be met for preference consideration. The statement of service must be on a form or letterhead of the individual's command organization, and shows the name, signature, title, and contact information of the signer providing the statement of service.
