We are currently seeking a Student Services Coordinator to join our team at our campus. The Student Services Coordinator is responsible for three major components of a successful student academic experience: ensuring students' regular program attendance, facilitating students' successful completion of the program, and helping students with identifying community, learning, and other resources to assist with inside and outside school needs.

Essential day-to-day job responsibilities include:

  • Complying with applicable federal and state laws and regulations, accreditor standards, and institutional policies and procedures;
  • Assisting Associate Director of Student Affairs with the implementation of Conducting first hour first call retention strategy to increase lab attendance;
  • Assisting the Associate Director of Student Affairs with preparation, facilitation, and execution of College Prep Day, Start Day, and 14 day new student retention;
  • Weekly monitoring of first module success rate.
  • Creating, organizing and scheduling student activity calendar to include:
    • College Prep Day
    • Start Day/Gateway to Success
    • Student activities such as student appreciation day, student awards ceremony, student cross over ceremony etc.
  • As applicable, working closely with the ECPP vendor's facilitator/proctor to follow up on ECPP students' attendance and participation in the adult education and vocational programs;
  • Facilitating and coordinating students' access to on-campus tutoring and other learning resources;
  • Creating and updating student resource database with the information on community resources for housing, child care, transportation, healthcare, etc.;
  • Creating, facilitating, and monitoring a campus community-moderated classifieds and forum boards for students to exchange information regarding resources offered and resources needed (e.g. carpooling, childcare exchange, etc.); and
  • Other duties as assigned

The Student Services Coordinator's performance is measured by the colleague meeting his/her attendance, retention and other metrics related to students education outcomes.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Teaching, advising, coaching, counseling or related experience.
  • High school diploma required; some college preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
  • Excellent problem resolution skills.
  • Resourceful and innovative in finding useful information.
  • Above average user skills in information technology and social media (e.g. student database, social media, online educational resources).
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of colleagues and students.
  • Strong team player.
