  • 1 year of relevant experience in Food and Beverage, Hospitality, Dining, Customer Service, Administrative, or other related area.

Grandview Catering & Events provides handcrafted fare and unique experiences brought to life by culinary and event professionals inspired by the latest trends and classic comforts. We focus on attention to detail, quality ingredients and sustainable practices with exceptional customer service. We proudly serve Appalachian State University campuses as well as off-site events for university affiliated businesses, community members and alumni with Grandview Ballroom featured as our premiere event space.
We're looking for a driven individual to hit the ground running and join our growing team. The successful candidate will work with others to ensure our daily catering operations and special events run efficiently while upholding our excellent customer service.


What You'll Do:
We're looking for a driven, detail-oriented individual to join our growing team. As a Coordination Assistant, you'll work behind the scenes to recieve requests, book events and help ensure our daily catering operations and special events run seamlessly, all while delivering top-tier customer service to the Appalachian State community and beyond.

Your Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Pipeline & Host Outreach: Track incoming leads and service requests. Proactively reach out to event hosts to clarify catering options as needed, follow up on room reservations that are missing catering requests, and review requests for external vendors.
  • Catering Order Management: Take ownership of pickup orders and assigned catering events -handling everything from initial proposals and client communication to menu creation, internal documentation, and post-event follow-up.
  • Client & Event Support: Attend client meetings and site visits alongside managers to take notes, gather details, and assist in bringing the client's vision to life.
  • Administrative Operations: Partner directly with the Event Coordinator and Director on administrative tasks, including reviewing host feedback and refining internal processes.
  • Team Communication: Maintain open, frequent communication with supervisors and team members regarding event status, logistics, questions, and fresh ideas. Participate in team meetings.
  • Culture & Collaboration: Build positive, professional working relationships with coworkers and student staff, while jumping in to support the wider Grandview team on other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills for conversing with clients, guests and employees
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Experience in customer service and/or food and beverage service
Work Schedule/Hours
  • 15-20 hours/week, typically between Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00
  • Schedule may vary depending on business needs 
  • Catering employees are required to work special events including, but not limited to, home football games, University commencement, other large scale events
