Job DescriptionBatch Operator - Cool Whip

Department: Production
Location: Avon, NY
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Union: Teamsters Local 118

Position Summary

The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking a Batch Operator - Cool Whip to work at our food processing facility in Avon, NY. This position is responsible for producing and supplying emulsion to product holding tanks while operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, cleaning, and sanitizing process equipment used in Cool Whip production. The Batch Operator ensures products are produced safely, efficiently, and within specification while supporting production, food safety, sanitation, and quality objectives.

Basic Purpose

To safely and efficiently produce emulsion for Cool Whip manufacturing while ensuring all products meet established quality standards, production schedules, and Kraft Heinz food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide a continuous supply of emulsion to product holding tanks in the Process Room.
  • Operate and monitor processing equipment used in Cool Whip production.
  • Perform equipment startup, shutdown, disassembly, sanitation, reassembly, and restart activities.
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues.
  • Perform minor mechanical adjustments to maintain production efficiency.
  • Complete required production documentation and period work assignments.
  • Utilize basic computer systems to support production activities.
  • Monitor products to ensure specifications and production requirements are achieved.
  • Recognize and report unusual operating conditions, equipment failures, and quality concerns to leadership.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the production shift.
  • Support production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Follow all Kraft Heinz safety policies and procedures.
  • Safely operate processing equipment and associated machinery.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures as required.
  • Wear and maintain required PPE.
  • Report unsafe conditions, behaviors, and equipment concerns immediately.
  • Support Kraft Heinz's safety-first culture.

Sanitation Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize process equipment, tools, floors, and work areas.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment for sanitation activities.
  • Complete sanitation activities in accordance with Kraft Heinz standards.
  • Safely handle cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment.
  • Maintain GMP and housekeeping standards throughout the shift.

Quality Assurance Responsibilities

  • Ensure products meet Kraft Heinz Quality Assurance standards.
  • Verify product specifications, ingredient usage, and process requirements.
  • Communicate quality concerns immediately.
  • Complete required production, quality, and traceability documentation.
  • Support food safety, GMP, and quality programs.
  • Participate in audits and corrective action activities as required.
