Primary Responsibilities: Supporting line cooks by completing the preliminary food preparation tasks and maintaining kitchen organization.ย 

  • Execute daily prep lists efficiently and accurately, including washing, peeling, cutting and portioning ingredients according to specifications
  • Prepare basic components of dishes. Measuring accurately, following recipes precisely and maintain proper storage procedures for all prepared items
  • Maintain proper food storage, monitoring temperatures, dating items and ensuring first in first out (FIFO) protocols are followed
  • Assist with kitchen cleaning duties, sanitizing prep areas, and maintaining cleanliness of kitchen areas. This involves following detailed schedules and health department regulations

Required Skills:

  • Previous prep cook experience
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Basic math skills for recipe conversion
  • Physical ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
