COOK

The Cook is responsible for the food preparation, planning and conducting facility's food service program for in a confinement setting A Cook is responsible for kitchen and dining area sanitation. The Cook assists in storage, inventory and ordering of food. It is the Cook’s responsibility to help in delivering meals to Embrave facilities.

  • Assists with planning meals far enough clients ahead to minimize the need for food substitutions; when substitutions are necessary helps to serve food of equivalent nutritional value.
  • Helps to maintain established standards of sanitation, safety and food preparation and storage as set by the local and state health departments, including: storing foodstuffs and supplies in appropriate areas; washing dishes; cleaning refrigerators, stove, bins, cupboards and other kitchen equipment and utensils; and, sweeping and mopping kitchen floors.
  • Supervise food line.
  • Participates in all emergency drills and environmental safety activities.
  • Participates in general staff meetings and other meetings and events planned by the grantee and delegate agency as requested

EDUCATION/ WORK EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent education.



Two Shifts Available at the Time of Posting: 3:00am - 10:00am & 10:00am - 6:00pm
