Job Description:

BW Converting has a Part-Time Machinist position that can help you gain on-the-job experience while attending school for your Machinist Program/Certification! In this role, this will provide part-time hours (20-30 Hours) for currently enrolled students participating in a 2-year degree or certification program!

This position is 100% onsite at our Green Bay, WI location and we offer the flexibility of hours that can be based upon your schedule! In this role, you will be responsible for operating, inspecting, and maintaining a variety of machine tools. This includes setting up horizontal and vertical machine centers, lathes, mills, boring bars, and grinders.

This role can be a year-long position, or until you complete your technical degree or certification!

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist producing parts to print holding tight tolerances while working to production schedules.

  • Able to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.

  • Perform machining operations on a wide variety of manual and CNC machine tools to support customer service parts order requirements.

  • Interpret and analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings

  • Perform fabrication operations as required.

  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team and administration cell to improve processes and update job standards for future use.

  • Ability to do close tolerance work, read and comprehend part drawings, and to inspect his/her own work using both computer-controlled and hand tool inspection equipment.

  • Perform assembly operations as required.

  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and solve problems in an efficient manner.

  • Communicate with team members and leaders to provide work updates.

  • Maintain safety by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Completed High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Machining program
