Job description

Job Title: Converting Operator - Tier One

Schedule: Monday-Friday from 6:45am-3:00pm

Location: Sussex, WI

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Responsible for safe & efficient operation of assigned converting machine(s), while ensuring product adheres to our quality policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work safely.
  • Conduct physical/ visual inspection of product to prevent non-conforming goods and minimize waste.
  • Meet or exceed production performance standards.
  • Perform housekeeping.
  • Conduct quality audits.
  • Record quality defects.
  • Read/ interpret documents, work instructions, and templates.
  • Pack and palletize goods to be shipped.
  • Maintain production supplies/ materials as required to ensure minimal machine downtime.
  • Communicate with outgoing/ incoming shift to ensure a successful shift handoff.
  • Record production data in machine computer promptly and accurately.
  • Dispose product scrap into appropriate film-type gaylord.
  • Create labels.
  • Actively participate in 5s program.
  • Calculate production numbers.
  • Actively assists fellow coworkers when able. 
  • Demonstrate proficiencies in running all converting machines.
  • Carry out other job-related duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Ability and willingness to multi-tasking in a fast-paced factory environment.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Can lift, push, or pull objects as needed
  • Can bend, twist, and stoop.
  • Reliable mode of transportation.
  • Can work necessary overtime to meet customer demands.
  • Able to work on foot for extended periods of time.
  • Dependable and works well with others.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Three years of work history preferred.
