**Assistant Controller

Location: Lancaster, OH

Position Overview:**

This role is within a manufacturing company serving the automotive industry. The Assistant Controller will oversee and manage the organizationโ€™s financial operations, providing hands-on accounting support while ensuring accurate reporting and compliance. The role requires direct involvement in day-to-day financial activities, including month-end closing and journal entries, and contributes to effective financial planning and control across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:**

  • Manage and maintain accurate and timely accounting records in compliance with corporate policies and standards
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Develop and maintain financial control systems to safeguard assets and monitor operations
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial data supports business operations and decision-making
  • Ensure consistent, accurate, and relevant management information for leadership and audit purposes
  • Drive continuous improvement within the finance function and support operational managers in financial processes

Key Qualifications / Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive
  • Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, payroll, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Practical experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general financial analysis skills
