The schedule may be adjusted as needed based on business needs or individual performance.

Position Summary

The Hydrocarbon Scheduler is responsible for leading daily hydrocarbon scheduling activities for the Unconventional Business Unit, with primary focus on natural gas and supporting responsibility across crude oil, condensate, and natural gas liquids as needed. This role ensures hydrocarbons are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with commercial strategy, operational realities, and contractual obligations.

The position serves as a key interface across Operations, Commercial, Trading, Gas Accounting, Midstream, Asset teams, and third parties to optimize flow paths, mitigate constraints, manage imbalances, and maximize product value. The Senior Hydrocarbon Scheduler is also expected to drive process improvements, strengthen scheduling tools and reporting, and provide mentorship and backup support across the scheduling function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily and monthly hydrocarbon scheduling activities, with primary accountability for gas nominations and supporting coverage for crude, condensate, and NGL streams.
  • Submit accurate and timely plant and pipeline nominations in multiple systems based on operational forecasts, field conditions, contractual requirements, and commercial priorities.
  • Monitor scheduled versus actual volumes and proactively manage changes, disruptions, curtailments, and downstream constraints.
  • Create and maintain Horizon trades to accurately capture and track physical gas movements and pricing.
  • Optimize hydrocarbon flow paths to maximize value, reduce costs, and minimize contract deficiencies.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of pipeline tariffs, transportation terms, commercial agreements, and scheduling requirements that influence nomination and delivery decisions.

Commercial & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as a focal point between field operations, trading, commercial, gas accounting and third-party midstream providers to ensure timely communication of production changes, constraints, and scheduling adjustments.
  • Coordinate closely with Operations and Commercial teams to ensure forecast changes, downtime, and allocation impacts are understood and reflected in scheduling decisions.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with pipeline companies, gas control teams, marketers, traders, processors, and other third-party stakeholders.
  • Support business decisions with timely information, commercial awareness, and a strong understanding of operational impacts.

Imbalance, Reconciliation & Reporting

  • Monitor volumetric discrepancies, imbalances, and allocation variances; investigate root causes and coordinate timely resolution.
  • Reconcile field statements, allocation statements, invoices, and actual flowed volumes to ensure data integrity and accurate hydrocarbon accounting support.
  • Maintain and improve spreadsheets, dashboards, and reporting tools used to track nominations, imbalances, transportation costs, and operational performance.
  • Support reporting, settlement activities, and ad hoc analyses for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement & Leadership

  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance scheduling efficiency, reduce manual effort, strengthen controls, and improve commercial outcomes.
  • Support development of best practices for hydrocarbon scheduling and standard work processes across the team.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and backup support to other schedulers or commercial support personnel as appropriate.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the scheduling and commercial interface.

Required Qualifications

  • Full U.S. work authorization without restrictions or future sponsorship requirements. Repsol does not sponsor visas, including F‑1 (OPT/CPT).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hydrocarbon scheduling, gas scheduling, commercial midstream, or relevant upstream technical/commercial experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of hydrocarbon scheduling processes, nominations, balancing/reconciliation, tariffs, transportation agreements, and midstream operations.
  • Experience working across gas and/or liquids scheduling environments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively across technical, field, and commercial teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other business tools; ability to quickly learn and use additional systems and reporting platforms.
  • Availability to provide after-hours or weekend support when required to monitor midstream points, nomination changes, or operational issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in both gas and liquids upstream scheduling.
  • Experience with hydrocarbon accounting, settlement, and invoice reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with ETRM systems and/or scheduling-related platforms.
  • Experience developing reporting tools, dashboards, or workflow improvements.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.

Core Competencies

  • Commercial and operational judgment
  • Analytical rigor and attention to detail
  • Cross-functional collaboration
