Job description

Position Summary:
The IMS Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) to support successful program execution and achievement of program objectives. This role works closely with program managers, functional leads, subcontractors, and support personnel to ensure schedules are aligned with program scope, technical requirements, resource plans, and budget constraints. Responsibilities include monitoring schedule performance, identifying risks and critical path impacts, supporting program reviews, and ensuring compliance with organizational and customer scheduling requirements.
This position has a significant impact on day-to-day program operations and supports projects and processes that span multiple professional areas. The IMS Scheduler provides schedule analysis and reporting to program leadership, supports planning and resource management activities, and contributes to the successful execution of complex programs. The role may also provide guidance, coaching, and work delegation to junior scheduling or project support personnel while promoting collaboration across cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement program scheduling business rhythms, developing baseline schedules and associated artifacts to meet contractual/project requirements, and monitoring, analyzing, and reporting performance against baseline schedules to ensure that contractual, cost and schedule
  • Generate, publish and maintain an accurate Master Schedule, showing the tasks and resources required to deliver on-time, per customer requirements and milestones
  • Work closely with multiple industry and government performers to develop detailed schedules, keep these schedules current and seamlessly integrated into the Master Schedule.
  • Develop and maintain linkages, dependencies and inter-dependencies with related projects.
  • Ensure internal and external dependencies are documented and tracked for risk management.
  • Identify major milestones, decision points, project life-cycle and other project events.
  • Identify critical path and task dependencies.
  • Set and maintain the baseline schedule and track all changes to the baselined schedule on a weekly basis.
  • Perform 'what if' scenarios within the schedule.
  • Develop schedule version control processes, policies, and procedures and ensure they are followed during the development and maintenance of schedules.
  • Perform schedule estimating through elicitation of team members and other stakeholders to capture estimations of new work, updated actuals and remaining work.
  • Champion and support continuous Risk Mitigation and Issue Management through schedule analysis.
  • Generate schedule reports based on planned vs actual work.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of project / program management experience or Masters with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must be a US citizen and possess a minimum of a Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to work with the functional areas to identify and maintain all schedule tasks and dependencies.
  • In depth IMS Project skill is required to facilitate meetings and work one-on-one to ascertain project activities, resources, requirements, predecessors, successors, impacts, milestones, etc.
  • Proven working knowledge of MS Project and/or other schedule management tools (e.g., MS Project Server/Deltek Open Plan)
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling theory and related best-practices (e.g., PASEG)
  • Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) architecture (e.g., WBS or IMP based) experience
  • Proven working knowledge of Critical Path
  • Baseline Change Control and IMS configuration management.
  • Ability to work independently with overall responsibility for the Master Schedule
  • Proven ability to work well within a team/collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Project and Confluence
  • Experience supporting complex defense contracts specifically with the Air Force
  • Possess strong problem-solving, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills to be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.

Pay Range $82,550.00 - $149,225.00
