Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Painter - Day Shift - Mineola.
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for assisting in the year-round operations of all Paint Shop related functions. Must be able to perform the proper repair and preparation of surfaces to be refinished using the necessary equipment and techniques. This includes, taping, spackling and sanding of drywall installation; preparation and repair of a variety of wall surfaces; applying primer and paint to wood, metal, plaster, drywall and other surfaces; applying stain to woodwork and trim; installation of wall-covering; ceramic tile installation and grouting. Individuals will be assessed on their abilities to properly perform these task as well as follow more general guidelines in the day-to-day performance of their duties as an employee of not only the Engineering Department but as an employee of NYU Langone - Long Island.

Job Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates proficiency and skill in working with various varieties of painting equipment and materials.
• Able to troubleshoot painting-related problems and issues and perform the necessary repairs or corrective measures.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Performs the proper repair and preparation of surfaces to be refinished using the necessary equipment and techniques.
• Correctly applies primer and paint to wood, metal, plaster, drywall and other surfaces; applying stain to woodwork and trim.
• Installs wall-covering; ceramic tile installation and grouting.
• Performs repairs and completes painting tasks correctly with attention to detail and no callbacks.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School or GED with Technical Diploma Appropriate Trade/Vocation School.  3 - 5 years Experience working full-time in the building maintenance (painting) industry, preferably healthcare. Successful completion of equivalent trade or vocational school training may be considered. Excellent communication skills (both oral & written), interpersonal and organization skills. Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of all aspects of painting and wallpapering and ceramic tile installation. Must be familiar with the safe operation and maintenance of power and hand tools. Must also be able to meet all of the demands of this position, with no physical impairments or impediments.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $96,044.43 - $107,321.28 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
