Job description

My client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial stone and tile construction projects from pre-construction through completion.

The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating clients, general contractors, architects, designers, vendors, fabricators, subcontractors, and field installation teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to design and quality requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in commercial construction project management, preferably with a background in stone, tile, marble, flooring, architectural finishes, or specialty subcontracting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial stone and tile projects from award through closeout.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, finish schedules, elevations, and shop drawings.
  • Coordinate project requirements with general contractors, architects, designers, owners, and subcontractors.
  • Review contracts, scopes of work, schedules, specifications, and project budgets.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules and track milestones.
  • Coordinate material procurement, fabrication, delivery, and installation.
  • Work closely with fabrication teams and field installation crews to ensure materials meet project requirements.
  • Review shop drawings, material samples, mock-ups, and submittals.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and other project documentation.
  • Monitor project costs, labor, materials, and subcontractor performance.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop solutions before they impact schedule or budget.
  • Conduct regular project/site meetings and coordinate with field personnel.
  • Visit construction sites throughout the NY Tri-State area to monitor progress and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate field measurements and verify site conditions.
  • Ensure installation conforms to architectural drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Manage punch-list activities and project closeout.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors, architects, suppliers, and trade partners.
  • Communicate project status, schedule, budget, changes, and issues to company leadership.
  • Assist estimating and pre-construction teams with project handoff and planning.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety and quality requirements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction project management experience.
  • Experience with commercial construction or specialty subcontracting.
  • Stone, tile, marble, flooring, terrazzo, architectural finishes, or similar experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
  • Strong understanding of construction schedules, budgets, contracts, and change orders.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, field crews, and material suppliers.
  • Strong knowledge of project documentation and construction administration.
  • Excellent communication and client-management skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and construction project-management software.
  • Experience with Procore or similar construction management platforms is preferred.
  • Ability to travel between construction sites throughout the NY Tri-State area.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
