METAL SHOP - PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE

$15.00/hour+, Full-time, M-F, 7:00a-3:30p

***Must live in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky to be eligible***

For over 25 Years, ASIC has been at the forefront of expansion and modernization of automation and controls projects for manufacturing facilities both large and small. We offer in-house engineering services such as: field service support, PLC/HMI programming and system integration/ design. We also boast a full-service, UL 508A certified, cable assembly and panel building shop.

Job Description:

We are currently searching to hire a Metal Shop - Production Associate. This person will be responsible for starting nearly all of our panel builds by performing enclosure modifications to accommodate the specified devices. Devices such as push buttons, stack lights, HMIs, AC units, fan/filter kits, etc... Modifications will be completed using hand tools and automatic punches, on a multitude of metal materials - but mostly mild steel. An extreme attention to detail is required for this position to ensure wasted/scraped material is kept to a minimum. Detailed 2D dimensional drawings will be provided from engineering for each project to ensure its accuracy. We manufacture a wide range of products so each project is likely to be different from the last.

Required skills and competencies:

  • Ability to read and understand mechanical dimensional drawings
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently
  • Working knowledge and comfortable with using powered hand tools
    • ​Drills (cutting and tapping), sawzall, hand saw, files, hydraulic knockouts

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Measure and cut out holes and punches based on the mechanical dwg
  • Ability to identify potential problems with the dwg and alert management to avoid mistakes and rework
  • Install mechanical components onto the enclosures as needed
    • Push buttons, HMIs, AC units, and Transformers.
  • Ability to lift 65+ lbs regularly

  • Compensation: $15.00+ per hour (based on experience)
  • Location: In-office, remote work is not available for this position
