Job description

Job Description Summary
GE Aerospace is seeking a Technical Publications Specialist to lead the end-to-end delivery of engine technical manuals for military and select commercial customers. In this customer-driven role, you will partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, and external suppliers to deliver high-quality updates and new manual content, driven by customer needs, engineering changes, and product improvements - enabling our customers to safely and effectively maintain GE Aerospace engines.
You will manage a portfolio of publication projects, providing program/project leadership across scope, schedule, cost, and contractual deliverables. This includes coordinating update inputs, directing supplier execution, reviewing technical quality, and ensuring that outputs meet applicable regulatory, contractual, and program requirements. You will also conduct problem solving and continuous improvement to stabilize and improve processes, run operating reviews, track performance metrics, and resolve cross-functional issues-using strong communication, influence, and negotiation skills to align stakeholders and drive results.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver technical publications updates and new content to meet contract requirements, customer expectations, and program schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable publication standards (e.g. MIL-STD, S1000D), regulatory requirements, and customer-specific requirements; maintain audit-ready documentation.
  • Manage controlled technical data to ensure proper handling, storage, distribution, and supplier access aligned to program security, export-controlled constraints (as applicable).
  • Partner with Engineering (Product Support, Design, Maintainability, Repair, etc.) and other stakeholders to translate drawings, configuration changes, and source data into accurate and timely manual updates.
  • Lead supplier execution by defining clear workscope and acceptance criteria, monitoring progress, and enforcing quality gates to prevent escapes and rework.
  • Drive customer responsiveness by prioritizing requests, clarifying requirements, and communicating impacts, risks, and tradeoffs to protect commitments.
  • Track process health and performance metrics (schedule, quality, responsiveness) and provide clear reporting for program reviews and leadership decisions.
  • Lead improvement and project work (e.g. major revisions, customer-driven updates, supplier transitions) using sound judgment, data-driven recommendations, and effective stakeholder influence.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Desired Characteristics
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, use data to identify root cause, and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects and deliver on commitments.
  • Ability to collaborate and build alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
