Catalyx is seeking a Sr Automation Engineer to support successful design & implementation of automation for process or utility systems. Provide input, review & approve design & requirement specifications. Secure proper & efficient implementation & qualification.Support production & other stakeholders.Improve reliability of the process control systems to meet current & projected customer, business & regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
โ€ข Develop & manage plans to maintain & improve process control systems.
โ€ข Schedule & execute plans in coordination with manufacturing schedules.
โ€ข Operate as automation lead on projects that involve process control systems.
โ€ข Assist with developing & managing budgets for maintaining & improving process control systems.
โ€ข Develop & maintain automation standards, specifications & maintenance plans.
โ€ข Own self development & initiative to understand the site process control systems.
โ€ข Adhere to the automation standards & establish new automation standards when necessary.
โ€ข Lead the site in establishing automation direction & strategy (hardware & software standards).
โ€ข Lead troubleshooting for automation-related downtime.
โ€ข Function as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned areas/technologies.
โ€ข Support audits & inspections as SME for process control systems.
โ€ข Demonstrate a thorough understanding of stakeholder management.
Requirements
โ€ข Bachelor's Degree in engineering/related field or equivalent combination of experience & education required.
โ€ข Minimum ten (10) years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility &/or packaging systems required.
โ€ข Experience troubleshooting automation & control systems & batch processes required.
โ€ข Experience working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment required.
โ€ข Knowledgeable in SCADA (i.e. iFix, Ignition, FactoryTalk), PLC & HMI (Rockwell/AB, Siemens, etc.), historian/data collections required.
โ€ข Programming & configuration of process control systems required.
โ€ข Windows based operating systems & associated applications required.
โ€ข System interfacing & integration & user access management required.
โ€ข Virtual machines/environments (preferably VMWare) preferred.
โ€ข Knowledgeable in Oracle, MS SQL preferred.
โ€ข IT competencies to an understanding level: domain, networking, firewall, group policies/permissions, system backup & restore preferred.
โ€ข Knowledgeable in MES (PAS-X, etc.); MS SQL, databases preferred.
โ€ข Proven expertise in planning/organization & project execution required.
