Position Summary
The Contractor Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with contractors, builders, and commercial customers for Summertown Metals. This position promotes and sells metal roofing, wall panels, trim, post-frame building materials, and related products. The representative provides product recommendations, prepares estimates and quotations, manages customer accounts, and coordinates with production and delivery teams to ensure exceptional customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
โ€ข Develop long-term relationships with contractors, builders, and commercial customers.
โ€ข Sell metal roofing systems, wall panels, trim, post-frame building materials, and related products.
โ€ข Prepare accurate quotes, material takeoffs, and sales orders.
โ€ข Review blueprints and construction plans to recommend appropriate products.
โ€ข Follow up on quotations and sales opportunities.
โ€ข Coordinate with production, scheduling, and shipping to ensure timely delivery.
โ€ข Maintain accurate customer records.
โ€ข Resolve customer concerns professionally.
โ€ข Meet or exceed sales goals.
โ€ข Stay informed about products, pricing, promotions, and industry trends.
โ€ข Represent Summertown Metals with professionalism and integrity.
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
โ€ข High school diploma or GED required.
โ€ข Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Sales, or a related field preferred.
Experience
โ€ข 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in building materials, construction, manufacturing, or metal roofing.
โ€ข Experience working directly with contractors is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
โ€ข Excellent customer service and communication skills.
โ€ข Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings preferred.
โ€ข Strong organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
โ€ข Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
โ€ข Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
โ€ข Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed.
Physical Requirements
โ€ข Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
โ€ข Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
โ€ข Visit customer jobsites and construction locations when necessary.
