Job description

The Registration Assistant will help the office of Academic Advising and Transfer Services with registrations and systems operations. The Registration Assistant will support continuing/returning and new student registration events and planning. They will support programmatic efforts and duties of the Professional Academic Advisors and provide front-end support to students when appropriate.

This is an hourly, part-time position.

Qualifications:

Educational Background: Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of one year working in an education setting or in customer service required. Preference given to candidates with experience at a community college.

Special Requirements: Ability to work independently. Effective communication skills and professional acumen. Excellent concierge skills in greeting and helping new and prospective students. Knowledge of the general philosophy of academic advising and transfer services as they relate to the successful student experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to work with software systems such as Starfish, Colleague, Slate etc. preferred.

Essential Functions:

Assists with coordination and implementation of New Student Registration events, including scheduling placement tests and appointments.

Assists in scheduling registration appointments for New Student Registration staff.

Provides front-end support to the office including checking in visitors and logging them into the Starfish system, answering phones, returning messages, and emailing responses on behalf of the office.

During peak times, proctors placement tests for math and music and reviews transcripts for placement.

Assists with transfer services events as needed.

Performs other related duties assigned by the Director, Center for Academic Advising and Transfer Services or Associate Provost of Student Affairs.

Pay Rate: $20.00/hour

Hours: Up to 25 hours per week
