Job description

Everforth ECS is seeking a Full-stack Engineer - Model Zoo UI/API to work in the National Capital Region covering the Pentagon, Falls Church, and Fairfax. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
The War Data Platform (WDP) is a key initiative within the U.S. Department of War's (DoW) AI-First strategy introduced in early 2026. The WDP separates business and financial data from operational warfighting data, aiming to accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) on the battlefield. The WDP extends to Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret environments, and supports collaboration between Combatant Commands, Joint Staff directorates, Senior Executive Service leaders, and operational analysts.
The Full-stack Engineer - Model Zoo UI/API is responsible for building and advancing the user interface and API infrastructure that makes WDP Core Integration's production-ready AI and machine learning models discoverable and accessible across all classification tiers. This role sits at the intersection of front-end engineering, backend API development, and AI/ML platform integration, delivering the catalog views, request workflows, and serving-layer connectors that enable warfighters, analysts, and decision makers to discover, access, and operationalize AI capabilities at mission speed.
โ€ข Develops and advances user interface and application programming interface capabilities for the War Data Platform (WDP) Core Integration Model Zoo supporting Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret mission environments.
โ€ข Builds catalog views, model discovery workflows, request submission interfaces, and interactive visual components that present production-ready AI and machine learning models to Combatant Commands, Joint Staff elements, and senior decision makers.
โ€ข Implements backend services, routing logic, metadata ingestion functions, and integration hooks that link the Model Zoo to scanning pipelines, packaging workflows, deployment subsystems, and serving endpoints defined under WDP Core Integration's model-serving architecture.
โ€ข Constructs UI components using enterprise design systems and modern front-end frameworks, while developing backend services with secure, performant, and testable architectures aligned with DoW cybersecurity requirements, NIST controls, and Zero Trust patterns.
โ€ข Integrates model access workflows with identity and access management platforms, audit logging mechanisms, and enclave-specific approval pathways.
โ€ข Conducts code reviews, participates in Agile sprint ceremonies, and collaborates with pipeline engineers, data scientists, and serving engineers to align UI and API capabilities with deployment readiness, operational suitability, and model governance requirements.
โ€ข Develops technical documentation, interface specifications, and prototype demonstrations supporting stakeholder validation, test and evaluation gates, and enterprise architecture alignment.
โ€ข Strengthens WDP Core Integration program value by delivering intuitive discovery capabilities, responsive API-driven interactions, and mission-focused user experiences that accelerate model adoption and operational decision support across all security enclaves.
โ€ข Performs other duties as assigned.
โ€ข Current Secret security clearance.
โ€ข A minimum of 3 years of experience in full-stack software engineering or a closely related discipline within a federal, defense, or enterprise technology environment, with demonstrated proficiency developing and sustaining both front-end UI components and backend API services in support of data-intensive or AI/ML platform programs.
โ€ข Active CompTIA A+ certification.
โ€ข Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate solution.
โ€ข Highly developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively and professionally interact with a diverse set of stakeholders (from peers to end-users to executive management).
