Job description

General Summary:  The Development & Corporate Partnerships Manager supports theDevelopment Department in achieving fundraising and partnership goals throughcorporate sponsorship management, relationship building, event coordination,and operational support. This role serves as the primary liaison for corporatepartners and plays a key role in revenue generation, donor engagement,reporting, and community outreach. Additionally, the Development& Corporate Partnerships Manager will support theZoo's mission to save wildlife and protect wild places and contribute to its environmental, social, governance sustainability, conservation, education, and DEAI (Diversity, Equity, Accessibility,and Inclusion) goals.

Essential Functions:

Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships

  • Manage theZoo's corporate partnership and sponsorship program, including prospecting,outreach, invoicing, stewardship, and renewals.
  • Serve as theprimary contact for corporate members and sponsors.
  • Develop andmaintain relationships with businesses, community organizations, andprospective partners.
  • Identify andpursue new sponsorship opportunities, including on-site sponsorship inventory.
  • Conductoutreach to major employers and prospects in Baltimore and surroundingcounties.
  • Tracksponsorship deliverables and prepare ROI reports for partners.
  • Support thecreation and distribution of sponsor and donor communications, proposals, andnewsletters.

Fundraising & Development Support

  • Contribute todepartmental fundraising and revenue goals.
  • Research andcultivate new opportunities for corporate and community support.
  • Assist withdonor stewardship and sponsorship solicitation efforts.
  • Collaboratewith the Marketing Department on partnership promotion and corporate marketingstrategies.

Event Planning & Coordination

  • Coordinateand manage corporate member events, including vendors, logistics, staffing,setup, and breakdown.
  • Providesupport for Zoo-wide events and cross-department initiatives as needed.
  • Collaboratewith the Volunteer Department to identify volunteer support opportunities.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintainaccurate corporate member and sponsor records within the organization'sdatabase system.
  • Trackrevenue, admission codes, contracts, invoices, and sponsorship activity.
  • Prepareweekly, monthly, and year-over-year reports for leadership.
  • Ensure propermanagement of contracts, certificates of insurance, purchase orders, andfinancial documentation.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • ManageDevelopment Department correspondence and acknowledgements.
  • Coordinatedepartmental IT and operational needs.
  • Assist withbudgeting, invoice verification, ticket sales, and cash handling responsibilities.
  • Create clearand timely internal communications and event memos.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • High schooldiploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years ofrelevant experience required; nonprofit fundraising or development experiencepreferred.
  • Demonstratedsales and customer service experience required.
  • Experiencewith fundraising databases, POS systems, and Google Workspace/Microsoft Officeapplications preferred.
  • Validdriver's license required.
  • Ability to obtain andmaintain TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certification.

Working Conditions

  • Must be ableto stand and remain active for an eight-hour shift;
  • Must be ableto walk large areas of the Zoo as needed;
  • Must be ableto work in an outdoor weather environment in all seasons and weather, includingheat/humidity, cold temperatures, and/or wet conditions;
  • Ability towork a flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays, and special events;
  • Must be ableto exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, push, pull, carry, or otherwise move objects;and,
  • Exposureto potential environmental hazards such as poison oak/ivy, uneven terrain,insect bites/stings, and Hepatitis B depending on the position.
