What is contract titration?

Contract titration is a process used in clinical research and healthcare to gradually adjust the dose of a medication or intervention according to a patient's response, while under a contractual agreement. This careful adjustment ensures optimal efficacy and safety for the patient, often in the context of clinical trials or managed care programs. The process involves regular monitoring and documentation to comply with regulatory standards and contractual obligations. Contract titration is commonly applied in studies involving drugs with narrow therapeutic windows, such as insulin or anticoagulants.
