Emplify Health is hiring a Clinical Value Analyst to join our team!
This position serves the organization as a proactive educator and consultant, having responsibility to represent Emplify Health within the foundation of the Value Analysis Team (VAT) to achieve supply chain expense management and targets, while ensuring appropriate quality products for patient care.
This role works collaboratively as an advocate for Supply Chain to represent the clinical perspective with Physicians, Allied Health Professionals, Administrators, the Department of Nursing, Vendors, Regional Campuses, and Long-term Care Facilities.
Major Responsibilities Include:
  • Uses knowledge of clinical and current practice to identify opportunities to reduce cost while sustaining or improving patient outcomes and maintaining provider satisfaction.
  • Under direction of VAT, process new product requests to research, offer expert advice, and educate. Assist with coordinating and educating for new product evaluation/trials to assure GHS chooses high-quality, efficient, cost effective, contracted products using appropriate evaluation criteria that provide the requesting department acceptable patient outcomes. For newly selected products will support education of the proper use of products, documentation of evaluation outcomes, and consultation with necessary personnel (ie: physicians, infection control, clinical engineering, nursing).
  • Develops and maintains professional working relationships; utilizes communication, networking and team building skills to accomplish goals while maintaining patient confidentiality and ensuring support to maintain positive patient outcomes.
  • Supports and liaisons Gundersen Health Systems supply chain objectives and goals with our Regional Partners for standardization and cost control.
  • Management of product issues, assistance in backorder situations to identify interim alternative product, and handling product recalls to requirements. Acts as a liaison between clinicians and Supply Chain in these situations to provide open communication and ensure ability to maintain similar patient outcomes.
  • Provide clinical expertise that facilitates supply expense management while continuously improving all processes that support quality patient care.
  • Proficient in data collection, research, analysis using various system tools. Ability to gather, interpret and present data in meaningful format, and in a non-biased, objective manner.
  • Assists Supply Chain and Information Systems with maintenance and integrity of ERP data.
  • Supports Supply Chain initiatives on product conversion reviews to achieve expense management using the value analysis process. Assists to prioritize product conversion opportunities based on the potential cost savings in relation to clinical care learning curve and potential impact to patient outcomes.
  • Promotes and provides education on value analysis processes to support best patient care costs.
  • Supports group purchasing organization contracts, organizational initiatives, departmental strategies.
  • Actively participates and facilitates communication with internal and external cross departmental and institutional teams, councils and work groups and Supply Chain.
  • Assists with defining non-compliant purchases to standardize formulary purchases and assists to reduce variability of products used in practice.

What's Available:
  • Full time, 1.0 FTE - 40 hours/ week
  • Monday-Friday Days
  • Location: This position is primarily onsite in La Crosse, WI, with the expectation of occasional travel as needed. Role is eligible to shift to a hybrid basis after adequate training.
  • Compensation: starting pay around $33.50/hour with opportunity for higher pay based on relevant work experience

To excel in this role, you'll bring:
  • Education: Associate's degree in Business Administration or healthcare related field
  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in healthcare. 1 year experience in a decision-making position in an area heavily utilizing clinical and physician preference supplies. Previous experience in process improvement projects, data collection and analysis.
  • 1 year experience in Lawson ERP system as well as EPIC clinical systems, desired
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to interpret contract terms, utilization data, and outcome metrics.
