Job Description

As part of our Global Risk Management team, the Contract Reviewer is responsible for supporting the operational business establish contracts with its clients and suppliers, advising on the associated risk to mitigate future litigation. 

Key role requirements

  • Undertake construction contract reviews
  • Liaise with Professional liability and general insurance brokers to confirm coverage, respond to queries
  • Provide ad hoc contract advice to operational teams and liaise with clients/their legal teams (where requested) to resolve contractual matters
  • Support operational teams through the RM process, help them to resolve issues and get into contract quicker
  • Help to improve risk management tools, systems and processes
  • Work with the operational teams to increase risk management awareness, compliance and capability
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to, where applicable
Qualifications
  • Law degree or equivalent legal qualification/experience
  • Minimum 2 years in a corporate construction legal position, with previous experience in reviewing/re-drafting supplier and client construction contracts
  • Strong administrative skillset - Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in contract development, supporting drafting bespoke contract schedules and clauses and reviewing contract documents prepared by others
  • Ability to liaise with and coordinate multiple stakeholders to develop robust contract documents
  • Strong communication skills  
  • Proactive, organized and thorough with a strong work ethic 
  • Hybrid working out of the Houston T&T office is required two to three days out of the work week.
