Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Home Healthcare
SCHEDULE & COVERAGE
  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Full-time field based respiratory therapy role
Coverage Area
  • Livonia, Michigan
  • Plymouth, Michigan
  • Northville, Michigan
  • Daily travel throughout the assigned territory providing in home respiratory care
On Call Expectations
No on call responsibilities
LOCATION REQUIREMENT
Candidates should reside within 30 miles of Livonia, Michigan
VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
  • Personal vehicle required
  • Mileage reimbursement provided for all approved business travel
  • This position involves significant daily driving throughout the service area
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) only
  • CRT, RN, LPN, and other clinical credentials are not eligible for this position
RECRUITING NOTES
  • Hospital respiratory therapy experience is strongly preferred
  • Candidates should be comfortable with significant windshield time throughout the workday

OVERVIEW
This is a full-time field based respiratory therapy role focused on providing advanced respiratory care in patients' homes.
  • Conduct in home patient assessments and clinical evaluations
  • Educate patients and caregivers on respiratory equipment and prescribed therapies
  • Set up and manage ventilators, PAP therapy, oxygen systems, and other advanced respiratory equipment
  • Adjust ventilator settings according to physician orders and patient assessments
  • Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot issues as needed
  • Provide ongoing patient follow up and clinical support
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Support orientation and training of new clinical staff as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Preferred
  • Hospital respiratory therapy experience
  • Home healthcare or DME experience
  • Degree in respiratory therapy or related science
  • At least one year of relevant clinical experience
  • Familiarity with ventilator management and advanced respiratory equipment
SKILLS
  • Strong patient education and communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem solving and clinical decision making abilities
  • Ability to build trust with patients, families, and referral sources
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Email and electronic documentation systems
  • Internet navigation and research
  • Standard office and communication equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift and transport patient equipment up to 65 pounds
  • Daily driving throughout assigned territory
  • Standing, walking, sitting, talking, and listening for extended periods
  • Exposure to patient environments and contagious pathogens
  • Must comply with N95 fit testing and respiratory protection requirements
