Job Description
The Department of Surgery MU Surgical Center for Outcomes Research and Effectiveness (MUSCORE) office is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Part-Time Research Specialist I.
The primary function of this position is to provide on-call trauma research support for the MUSCORE team.
The individual in this position will assist in the following activities and perform the following support functions:
• Monitor Level 1 and Level 2 Trauma Alerts during their assigned on-call hours.
• Review each trauma alert for inclusion/exclusion criteria to determine eligibility for enrollment.
• Enroll eligible research participants into trauma trial.
• Interact with human research participants.
• Deliver study drug for administration.
• Monitor research participant vitals during study drug administration.
• Assist with research data collection and entry into an electronic data capture system.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, and meticulous record keeping are required.
• Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, is vital.
• Must be able to communicate in both written and verbal styles with multi-disciplinary clinical research team members.
• Position requires self-motivation and teamwork with the MUSCORE investigators, study coordinators, and research staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $17.05 - $23.37 hourly
Grade: GGS - 007
