Job description

SunMED Medical is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Customer Service Represetnative to join our Lymphedema/Compression Therapy team. This full-time remote role is ideal for someone who thrives in a patient-focused environment and has experience in healthcare customer service and Durable Medical Equipment. (DME)

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for helping patients through the ordering process. Experience with compression garments or lymphedema products is highly valued, but most importantly, we want someone who delivers exceptional customer service and is eager to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service to patients, referral sources, therapists, and healthcare providers.
  • Guide patients and referral sources through the order process with professionalism, empathy, and urgency.
  • Communicate with patients regarding insurance coverage, benefits, and any potential out-of-pocket costs.
  • Process referrals and manage orders through our order management system.
  • Contact providers to obtain required clinical documentation needed to move orders forward.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources and business partners.
  • Educate patients and providers on lymphedema and compression therapy products.
  • Create and submit purchase orders to manufacturers via email, fax, or online portals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate order completion.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced remote work environment.

Experience

  • Previous experience in healthcare customer service and DME.
  • Compression therapy or lymphedema experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, both phone and written.
  • Comfortable discussing insurance coverage and patient financial responsibility.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptable and comfortable learning new systems and processes.
  • Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and remote work platforms.
  • Brightree experience is preferred, but not required - we are happy to train the right candidate with DME experience and strong technical aptitude.
    Compensation will be based on experience, knowledge, and overall qualifications, particularly within DME, compression therapy, and healthcare customer service.
