You'll be doing things like:
  • Strategically purchase materials, equipment, tooling, office supplies, safety products, and maintenance parts for all departments. 
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements to maximize value and reduce overall costs. 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors while continuously evaluating supplier performance. 
  • Source alternate suppliers and identify replacement parts when critical equipment or production needs arise. 
  • Support Maintenance by locating hard-to-find components and expediting emergency purchases to minimize production downtime. 
  • Research substitute parts, aftermarket options, rebuilt components, and alternate manufacturers when OEM lead times impact operations. 
  • Evaluate purchase requests to ensure they align with business needs, budgets, and approval requirements. 
  • Monitor inventory levels and work with department leaders to maintain appropriate stock of critical materials. 
  • Analyze purchasing trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. 
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Finance, and Production to support company objectives. 
  • Utilize ERP systems to manage purchase orders, supplier information, and inventory transactions. 
  • Recommend purchasing strategies that improve efficiency and reduce risk.

  • Experience negotiating pricing and supplier agreements. 
  • Inventory management experience. 
  • Ability to read technical specifications or engineering drawings is a plus. 
  • Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with industrial equipment is highly desirable. 
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
