Position Title: Staging Center Technician

Location: Onsite Corona, California

Position Summary

The Staging Center Technician is responsible for receiving, preparing, configuring, testing, tracking, and shipping IT equipment and technology assets to support customer deployments and service operations. This role ensures devices are accurately staged, imaged, inventoried, packaged, and documented according to company standards while maintaining a secure and organized staging environment.

The technician works closely with field support teams, project managers, asset management teams, and logistics personnel to ensure technology deployments are delivered on time and meet quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Device Preparation & Configuration

Configure, image, and stage network devices, servers and peripheral equipment.

Install operating systems, software applications, security tools, and required updates.

Validate hardware and software functionality prior to deployment.

Perform system testing and quality assurance checks to ensure deployment readiness.

Apply asset tags, labels, and customer-specific configurations.

Asset & Inventory Management

Receive, inspect, and inventory incoming equipment shipments.

Maintain accurate asset records within inventory management systems.

Track asset movement from receipt through deployment and return.

Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.

Support equipment lifecycle activities including refresh, redeployment, and disposal.

Logistics & Shipping

Prepare deployment kits and shipment packages according to project requirements.

Coordinate shipping, receiving, and return logistics activities.

Ensure equipment is packaged securely to prevent damage during transit.

Verify shipping documentation and maintain chain-of-custody records.

Technical Support

Troubleshoot hardware, software, and imaging issues encountered during staging.

Escalate unresolved technical issues to appropriate support teams.

Assist field technicians with deployment readiness and technical questions.

Support technology refresh and rollout initiatives.

Process & Quality Management

Follow documented staging procedures, work instructions, and security requirements.

Ensure compliance with customer contracts, asset management policies, and data protection standards.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.

Maintain staging center organization, cleanliness, and safety standards.

Required Qualifications

Education

Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.

Equivalent technical training and experience may be considered.

Experience

1-3 years of experience in IT support, asset management, deployment services, or warehouse technology operations.

Experience configuring and deploying Cisco network equipment.

Experience with inventory tracking systems and asset management processes.

Technical Skills .

Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, LAN connectivity).

Hardware installation and troubleshooting.

Asset management and inventory control systems.

Knowledge of ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.

Preferred Qualifications

CompTIA A+ certification.

Experience with ServiceNow, Autopilot, SCCM, or similar endpoint management solutions.

Knowledge of barcode scanning and inventory technologies.

Experience supporting large-scale deployment or refresh projects.

The total compensation range for this role in the posted location is $54,386.00 - $90,000.00 USD.
