A Controls Engineer is required for a Houston-based power generation role focused on generator control systems, commissioning support, PLC/HMI programming and control panel testing before shipment.

This Controls Engineer role suits someone with electrical controls experience across generators, switchgear, medium-voltage systems and customer-facing commissioning support.

The Controls Engineer / Power Generation Controls Engineer / Automation Engineer Role:

Controls Engineer / Power Generation Controls Engineer / Automation Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or a related engineering discipline
  • 2โ€“4 yearsโ€™ experience commissioning power generation and/or medium-voltage systems
  • Working knowledge of MCCs, VFDs, switchgear, motors, AC/DC systems and electrical troubleshooting
  • Ability to read single-line drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics and controls schematics
  • Valid driverโ€™s license, willingness to travel up to 25% and legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship or transfer
