This role offers hands-on involvement with control logic, protection schemes, RTAC programming, and client-facing engineering deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design and implementation of microgrid control and automation systems.
  • Develop protection and control schemes for BTM generation and grid-interconnected facilities.
  • Assist with islanding, resynchronization, load-shedding, and power management strategies.
  • Support RTAC programming, controller configuration, and system integration activities.
  • Prepare technical reports, functional design specifications, and engineering recommendations.
    Qualifications
    Required
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems preferred).
  • 1-3 years of experience in power systems, controls, utility, generation, EPC, or related environments.
  • Experience with protection, controls, or power system software such as SEL, ETAP, ASPEN, PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of power system protection, fault analysis, controls, and electrical system fundamentals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    Preferred
  • EIT certification or progress toward PE licensure.
  • Experience with SEL RTAC or other automation platforms.
  • Familiarity with microgrids, inverter-based resources, battery storage, and plant controls.
  • Knowledge of IEEE, IEC, NERC, or utility interconnection standards.
  • Exposure to relay testing, commissioning, FAT/SAT, or field support activities.
    What We're Looking For
  • Strong interest in power system controls and microgrid technologies.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership of assignments.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Desire to develop expertise in advanced energy and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
