Job description

Full-Time Protection & Controls Engineer

Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Required: Minimum 4 years in Protection and Controls
License: Valid Driver’s License Required


FindTalent is seeking a skilled Protection & Controls (P&C) Engineer for one of our valued clients in the utility sector. We’re looking for a dedicated professional with strong experience in substation design, protection systems, and a Professional Engineer (PE) license. If you have a solid technical foundation, expertise in protection and controls systems, and can work both independently and collaboratively, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:
  • Design, install, and commission protection and control systems for substations
  • Develop effective protection and controls strategies to enhance system reliability
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain protection and controls equipment
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure systems are correctly installed and commissioned
  • Update and maintain documentation for all protection and control systems
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • PE license required
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in protection and controls, including system design, installation, and commissioning
  • Proficiency in essential software, including Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD Electrical, and power system analysis tools such as ETAP
  • Experience with relay setting software, such as AcSELerator, and protective relay testing/commissioning software (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam and ARCGIS software is beneficial
  • Strong understanding of substation design and electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure
