Job description

Description

EXEMPT. This position requires a well-rounded and unique mix of finance, accounting and analysis combined with ability to interact and serve as a business partner with operations and sales management. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial functions while ensuring compliance with GAAP, SOX, government, contract requirements and in general, maintaining good corporate governance. Will oversee monthly close activities on a timely basis and oversee activities of finance staff, budgeting and forecasting and provide financial analysis to support Project Manager (PM), contracts and proposals support and Corporate Accounting and Reporting. Ability and confidence to recommend process improvements will be encouraged.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Oversee monthly and quarterly close requirements on a timely basis and the activities of finance and operation staff including inventory count procedure. 

Oversee compliance over Revenue Recognition. This involves understanding Revenue Recognition in conjunction with the requirement of ASC 606, preparation of monthly Revenue Recognition and quarterly cost review. 

Oversee compliance with internal controls over the financial close process to ensure accurate financial results.

Preparation of monthly MD&A to management to review and analyze financial results for the month including analysis of trends, price volume and other variances.

Provide weekly liquidity forecasts including billing, cash receipts and AP cash requirements.

Provide weekly profit and loss statement forecasting.

Prepare annual facility budget package including supporting assumptions and review with facility GM and Management. 

Oversee compliance to internal control over procure to pay process which includes review and approval of  Vouchers, travel and cash advances, employee expense reports, purchase order maintenance, vendor maintenance forms, open PO receipt, and manual checks.

Oversee the preparation of customer invoices in a timely manner. Distribute revenue reports to Management on a weekly basis. Manage all collection steps as required by the segment administrative practices. Complete various Revenue Reports as directed by corporate management.

Advise Nuclear Segment Managers and Corporate Management on variety of business decisions and provide innovative analytical support when required.

Maintain dual communication between VP-Corporate Controller/Corporate Accounting and PM/Operation for any issues that can affect or may require an Accounting Change or recognition.

Oversee Fixed asset procurement and capitalization compliance from authority, capitalization and disposition and annual fixed asset count.

Support Corporate Accounting and Reporting in preparation of auditor schedules and checklists required for quarterly (10-Q) and year-end (10-K) reporting. 

Support Corporate Treasury during bank audits.

Support corporate accounting in research of tax related matters related to the facility.

Monitor Facility local tax requirements and compliance including sales and use, waste and property tax. This includes maintenance of documentations (i.e., request sales tax exemption certificate from customers or provide exemption certificate to vendors for purchases/services for an exempt Government Contract)

Maintain compliance to facility specific local business requirements (i.e., license and permits and business registrations).

Provide various financial and operating metrics to Corporate office and Management as required.

Assist in preparation of all DCAA/ICE schedules and submittals and audits.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

B.S. degree in accounting with 5 to 10 years' experience, CPA is a plus.

Demonstration of strong analytical skills.

Must be able to work directly and effectively with internal and external auditors and all levels of staff.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong knowledge of PC software, MS Excel and Word.

Experience with DCCA & FAR accounting requirements.


Will work in an office-type environment.
